The line-up for our first festival of Swing Music and Dance is looking great. We have some fantastic bands and singers signed up, with yet more to announce. As soon as we get confirmation we will announce it here, so please keep following us.

Your host for the entire weekend will be:

DJ Radio Flyer

This vintage music loving local DJ will bring his experience from running the main arena at Twinwood to the IpSwing Festival.

Friday

There will be a barbecue running from 6pm to 8pm, so no need to eat before you arrive, with DJ Radio Flyer starting the music to get you moving.

Your opening live act of the IpSwing Festival will be the fantastic, internationally acclaimed:

The Spitfire Sisters

They will delight us with two sets combining their Andrews Sisters inspired singing, coupled with some unique songs of their own with that humorous twist.

Between The Spitfire Sisters’ sets we are delighted to bring you a Spanish flavour with:

DJuan

After the live music, we will continue dancing to some slightly slower music to prepare you to retire for the evening, and recoup ready for Saturday’s extravaganza!

Saturday

We will start the day with some dance classes to get you in the mood and to give those who have not tried swing dancing a taste of what it’s like, so you can join in on the dance floor later.
Then we will have a Jazz Jam session bringing together a variety of musicians to play and sing together, plus an opportunity for an open mic session. If you would like to take part in this please let us know.

Your three live bands for Saturday will all perform two sets each, they are:

Katie’s Crooked Swing Band

</h6>

Tessa Smith and the Applejacks

Down for the Count

Between the live bands our DJs will be joined by:

Swing DJ Jonas

He has travelled all the way from Copenhagen to be a part of IpSwing.
Look out for some cabaret dancing throughout the day as we have some great dance teachers more than happy to demostrate their moves!
Again, once the live music is over, we will continue dancing to some slightly slower music to finish this outstanding day!

Sunday

We will start the day with some more dance classes to give you some more moves to try out on the dance floor.
We will another set from Katie’s Crooked Swing Band, more from our three DJs and two sets from:

Lisa Day

Big band and swing music from Lisa Day
Lisa is local to Ipswich and this sets the scene for the day, as we are welcoming upcoming talent from East Anglia to showcase themselves. So if you’re a swing or jazz band, singer or dancer who wants the opportunity to perform get in touch.

Before the day ends we will be hold the best dressed competition, so make sure you dress to impress!
